Robert L. BertiniAre you interested in solving problems and improving the quality of life for your community and the rest of the world? Then please, join us!

Our diverse, inclusive family of staff, instructors, and faculty are devoted to creating a better future, by providing transformational educational experiences and advancing knowledge in the built environment. Our graduates take their pick of job offers in both the public and private sectors. We’re proud of our alumni and grateful for our strong connections in the profession and industry. We relish our stunning location midway between the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Range, in one of the safest and friendliest college towns in the United States.

We offer bachelor of science degrees in civil engineering (ABET accredited), construction engineering management (ACCE accredited), and architectural engineering, a minor in humanitarian engineering, and a dual degree program in civil and forest engineering. Our students are engaged in their professions from day one — through labs, clubs, research experiences, competitions, conferences, service, internships, and experiential learning. We focus on mentoring to support student success, responding to individual needs and differences.

Our graduate students engage in collaborative research alongside faculty mentors in our master’s and doctoral programs in civil engineering. Specialization is offered in coastal and ocean, construction, engineering education, geomatics, geotechnical, infrastructure materials, structural, transportation, and water resources. We also offer an Accelerated Master’s Platform, which allows Oregon State undergraduates to take graduate-level classes for credit toward both their bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Whether improving systems to deliver clean drinking water, designing safer bridges and construction areas, developing new sustainable materials, or creating buildings and infrastructure that are resilient in the face of natural hazards, our graduate students make significant impacts. Their work gets noticed — through participation in research projects, presentation of findings at conferences, collaboration with industry and agencies, and publication in peer-reviewed journals.
