Bio:
Dr. Yelda Turkan is an assistant professor in the School of Civil and Construction Engineering. She holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo in Canada. Dr. Turkan’s research is focused on the areas of remote sensing and information technology for Built Environment. She leverages tools such as BIM and lidar together with computer vision and machine learning techniques to innovate planning and monitoring construction operations, and to improve decision making in the Built Environment. Dr. Turkan is the vice president of the International Association for Automation and Robotics for Construction. She also serves as the chair of the ASCE Computing Division Education Committee.
