Yelda Turkan, Ph.D. - Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Turkan teaches construction contracts and virtual design and construction courses at undergraduate and graduate level. In 2015, she was awarded with ASCE ExCEEd Fellowship for completing the ExCEEd teaching workshop organized and supported by ASCE. In her research, Dr. Turkan investigates how lidar and virtual design and construction technologies can help improve project controls. Her research interests are centered on the areas of sensing, automation, and information technology for construction engineering and management, infrastructure asset management, and transportation. Dr. Turkan is a member of number of committees, including ASCE TCCIT Data Sensing and Analytics Committee, CII Academic Committee, TRB Geospatial Data Acquisition in Design and Construction Committee, and TRB Information Systems and Technology Committee. She serves as the secretary of the ASCE TCCIT Education Committee. She also serves as a reviewer for a number of journals including ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management, ASCE Computing in Civil Engineering, Automation in Construction, and Advanced Engineering Informatics.
