Teaching Interests 

Instructor Sammy Rivera’s teaching interests include topics related to water resources systems analysis, information technologies and cyberinfrastructure for smart, sustainable, and resilient water infrastructure and resources, and big data and artificial intelligence in integrated water management. Examples of courses offered at CCE and related to these topics include Fundamental Fluid Mechanics (CE 311), Hydraulic Engineering (CE 313), Watershed hydrology (CE 412/ CE 512), GIS in Water Resources (CE 513), and other special topics (e.g., machine learning methods for engineering design, stochastic hydrology, heuristic optimization, and other related areas).
