This series is organized as four 1-day short courses and a 1-day workshop during the week. The first three days follow a natural progression of technical topics, using a lecture format. There will be some laptop computer work on the first two days. The fourth day applies topics to boat facility analysis, using discussion format. The final day involves synthesis of ideas for other types of stream structures, including small dams.
The course topics are intended for technicians, practitioners and managers who work with stream projects or review proposals and permits for such projects. The boat facility workshop is intended to draw together practitioners and managers to discuss hydraulic and geomorphic issues associated with site selection or management.
The registration fee for each course covers room rental, brief notes, and morning-afternoon refreshments. Lunches will be at attendee expense.
