| Interests and Research: |
| Teach and research multi-disciplinary subjects including geomatics engineering, computer science, geotechnical engineering, and geology to analyze hazards in civil engineering, focusing on applications of terrestrial laser scanning and geographic information systems (GIS) to earthquake, liquefaction, and coastal hazards. |

| Teaching: |
| Dr. Olsen will teach courses in both the geomatics and geotechnical areas. He is developing a new course on digital terrain modeling which will incorporate aspects of 3D visualization to understand earth processes. |
