JUNE 8-12 – FINALS WEEK; yay!

JUNE 8, Monday – Science Pub, “The Toughest Race on Earth: The Science behind the Iditarod”. Old World Deli, 6-8:00 pm. Come early for food, drink, and to get a seat!

JUNE 12, FRIDAY - ORDER of the ENGINEER, MU Lounge, 1pm.  Friends and family are invited to both the ceremony and reception that follows.

JUNE 12 – CCE GRADUATION CELEBRATION. All graduates (undergrads & graduates, including Summer or Fall ’09) are invited to participate in our School’s ceremony at LaSells Stewart Center.

  • Students to arrive in cap & gown at 7pm to lineup (Jan Strombeck has CEM hardhats)
  • Ceremony begins at 7:30 sharp
  • Welcome, Student Speakers, & Student of the Year awards presented
  • Presentation of Graduates (name announced; faculty reception line)
  • Dessert & coffee follow immediately at Alumni Center courtyard 8:30- 10pm
  • Things to remember:
    • Cap & gown!
    • Parking will be crazy.
    • It’s embarrassing to walk in late.
    • Photo stage area available outside Alumni Center.

THE ANNUAL SOFTBALL GAME RESULTS are in! CEM (15) beat CE (8) in a seven-inning game.  Thanks to all who showed up for a fun end-of-year game.

OSU COMMENCEMENT WILL BE BROADCAST LIVE on OPB-Plus (not OPB HD or OPB) on June 13 starting at 11 am. This change is due to the digital transition taking place on June 12. Experts from Oregon State University, state and federal officials and residents of Cannon Beach are hoping to create a new city hall and what they say could be the first structure in the U.S. built specifically to survive the force of a tsunami.

Experts at Oregon State University in Corvallis are currently working with state and federal officials and Cannon Beach residents to create a new city hall. The building is planned to be the first structure in the country to be built specifically to survive the force of a tsunami.
