MAR 9-13 – Welcome to Dead Week
March 11, Wednesday - Take a break from dead week studying and join your AGC Student Chapter for some snacks, 12-noon to2pm in the Kearney Student Lounge (3rd floor). Just drop by and say "hi" and enjoy pop, snacks, and even take out your study frustrations on our piñata! Hope to see you there!
MAR 13, Friday - Jon Dorbolo from TAC will present how to incorporate podcasts into your courses; for faculty and GTAs. 241 Owen Hall, 2-3pm.
MAR 13 - CORVALLIS SCIENCE PUB, “Beer: A Tasty Blend of Art, History, and Science. “ The Downtown Corvallis Association has partnered with OSU and OMSI to bring "Science Pub" a new, fun, monthly, interactive educational program to Corvallis. Science Pub is an opportunity for you to learn about cutting-edge topics in science and technology from leading researchers and scientists, all while enjoying food and drinks. PORTLAND BIKE TOUR - a technical field trip organized by ITE is a 2-3 hour leisure bike ride throughout the Portland area to show some innovative bike-friendly designs such as bike boxes, bike traffic signals, and colored bike lanes. Tour guides Peter Koonce and Jamie Parks, from Kittelson and Associates, will host a tour that should not be missed! We will be organizing a meeting to plan for the details of this April 11 trip. Please come to our meeting on Wednesday, March 11 at 6 PM in KEAR 202 if you are interested in going. If you are unable to attend the meeting and would like to go, please email Kyle at taniguck@onid.orst.edu.
ENGINEERING EXPO is just around the corner! The College of Engineering is looking for engineering students who are willing to volunteer before, at, and after the event on May 14 and 15. NEWS FLASH!!!!! EXPERIENCE DEFEATS QUICKNESS! The CCE faculty and staff basketball team edged the CE students 54-50 in a close game on Thursday night in Dixon. Faculty and staff playing included John Gambatese, Mick Haller, Tona Nikl-Rodriguez, James Batti and Tom Miller, supported by a talented squad of hot-shooting and strong rebounding graduate students (see photo here. . .). The score was 31-29 with the faculty in the lead at halftime, and they just never let up. The faculty team is recruiting the best undergraduate players for grad school at OSU to continue the winning streak. See you in 2010!
