Six representatives of our Wave Research Lab are headed to Washington DC during National Engineers Week, Feb. 15-21, 2009. Alicia Lyman-Holt and Jason Killian will display their mini-large flume at the hands-on Family Day event on Saturday. Thanks to generous NCEES funding making this possible, the HWL outreach program will build a custom packing crate for the flume and fly all to DC. Also participating are two ocean engineering grad students and two CCE student ambassadors.
ENGINEERS WEEK BANQUET - Monday, February 23, CH2M Hill Alumni Center. The keynote address will be delivered by Dr. Don Pettit, NASA Astronaut, COE alumnus, and Oregonian. Dr. Pettit recently returned from another space mission, logging about 6 million miles while helping to renovate and expand the space station. All CoE faculty and staff are encouraged to attend this banquet, which is being co-sponsored by OSU COE and the Willamette Valley Section of SWE. Click here for more details. To register, click here.
And as always, OSU Career Services reminds you to check their site for companies coming to interview during winter term. Check out their calendar of helpful events just prior to the Engineering Career Fair, on dining etiquette, interview skills, and resume writing. Your mother wants you to get a job.
