TEACH FOR AMERICA is a non-profit that enlists our nation’s future leaders in the fight against educational inequity. We ask high achievers from all academic majors to do their part to close the achievement gap by teaching for two years in a low-income community. After those two years, many of our teachers take those lessons on to leadership within education, law, medicine, business, and a host of other professions.  In order to address the systemic problems in education, we need leaders in all sectors to have the insight that comes with teaching for two years in these situations. Only one in ten kids from low-income communities will graduate from college. Teach for the other nine. Join us for an information session with Jacob Landry, a 2006 LSU graduate and Hawaii corps member. October 28, Tuesday – MU 213, 6:00 pm. If you are interested in learning more about Teach For America and upcoming events at OSU, please provide your contact information here. Next application deadline: Friday, November 7th.
