OUS SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE, Oct. 23-24, UO campus. Two distinct themes - Campus Operations and Student Engagement - provide focus for the conference. For each theme, conference organizers developed a full day of activities. Full details here.

PLEASE NOTE:  For AGC Student Chapter Speaker Meetings:
1)   You may become a member at any meeting or by seeing Jan Strombeck in 220 Owen.  You will receive a membership card.  Memberships for the full academic year are $15.  
2)   Membership cards must be shown to attend and have dinner at AGC Speaker Meetings.
3)   To show respect for our presenters, people who show up after 6:10 pm will not be admitted into the meeting.

OCT 21, Tuesday – ACSM Speaker Meeting, Tyler Parsons, Parsons Surveying, to speak on small surveying businesses. He is a Professional Surveyor, OSU grad, and a past-president of PLSO’s Willamette Branch. 110 Owen Hall, 4:00 pm. Food and drinks provided.

OCT 21, Tuesday - AGC Speaker Meeting, APOLLO SHEET METAL MECHANICAL CONTRACTOR and APOLLO, INC GENERAL CONTRACTOR., Kennewick, WA, 6:00 pm, 103 Owen.  Food and soft drinks will be available.  Apollo Sheet Metal provides total construction and pre-construction services for residential and commercial clients. Services include industrial piping and plumbing, complete HVAC contracting and design, sheet metal fabrication, mechanical coordination, refrigeration systems, facility maintenance and management, Direct Digital Controls, and energy conservation consulting.  Apollo, Inc. specializes in infrastructure and industrial projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.  Services include infrastructure and utilities, custom concrete, heavy/civil construction, excavation and site work, design-build project delivery and commercial construction. 

OCT 21, Tuesday - AGC Speaker Meeting, TRAYLOR PACIFIC, Irvine, CA, 6:00 pm, 110 Owen. Food and soft drinks will be available. Traylor Bros. is a highly adaptable construction organization with capability to tackle the most difficult underground and marine projects. Traylor projects include structures above or below ground, on land or water, of concrete or steel--tunnels, bridges, locks, dams, wharfs and ports.

OCT 21, Tuesday - ASCE Speaker Meeting PUGET SOUND NAVAL SHIPYARD, 5:00pm, Owen 102.  Puget Sound Naval Shipyard is one of four major Public shipyards across the United States that serves the US Navy with repairs, overhauls, and modernization of Naval Vessels.  They employ 100's of engineers with a variety of backgrounds including:  Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, and Nuclear.  Freshmen and sophomores encouraged to come!  Internships and full-time positions available.

OCT 22, Wednesday - AGC Speaker Meeting, SHIMMICK CONSTRUCTION, Oakland, CA, 6:00 pm, 106 Owen. Food and soft drinks will be available. Established in 1990, Shimmick Construction Co., Inc. a general engineering contractor has rapidly succeeded in earning a reputation for excellence in heavy construction including design/build, bridges, freeways/highways, pipelines, railways, and water resources.

OCT 22, Wednesday - AGC Speaker Meeting, WALSH CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, Portland, OR; Seattle, WA, 103 Owen. Food and soft drinks will be available. Walsh has brought quality and craftsmanship to the western United States since 1961. As a general building contractor they build use construction systems that include steel, concrete and wood frame, they build a variety of structures for clients across public, private, and non-profit sectors.

OCT 23, Thursday - AGC Speaker Meeting, TURNER CONSTRUCTION, Portland/Seattle (international company), 102 Owen. Food and soft drinks will be available. Turner’s market segment groups have industry-specific expertise in costing, planning, building and delivery. This expertise combined with local market knowledge has made Turner the leader nationally in commercial offices, education, sports, hotels/motels, healthcare, pharmaceutical, multi-unit residential correctional and entertainment/public assembly. Turner has offices throughout the US and in several countries internationally.

OCT 23, Thursday - AGC Speaker Meeting, KIEWIT PACIFIC STRUCTURES, Vancouver, WA (international company) 106 Owen. Food and soft drinks will be available. Topic: "Managing Mega Projects." Since 1985, Kiewit Pacific Structures has specialized in building some of the most modern and technically challenging bridges in North America. In addition to bridge work, Pacific Structures work includes marine and port facilities, highways, dams and reservoirs, hydro plants, mass transit, light rail and heavy rail.

OCT 25, Saturday, ASCE Adopt-a-Highway Cleanup, 10:00 am, meet in the Owen Lobby.  Come help ASCE clean part of Highway 34, have fun, and get free lunch afterward!

OCT 26, Sunday – ASCE vs AGC FOOTBALL GAME!  Please note the date correction.  Meet at the Corvallis High School turf field at 11am on Sunday for the big game! OCT 23, Thursday, the day after the Engineering Career Fair, the following companies are interviewing in Owen Hall CE and CEM students for both full-time and internship positions. Visit each of these companies at the Engineering Career Fair for more information.
