WOMEN’S CENTER OPEN HOUSE, Monday October 13, 4-6pm.

OSU MICRO AIR VEHICLE CLUB - primary focus this year is designing, building, and testing an MAV to take to an international competition happening next June in Pensacola, Florida. For more information about that event, visit http://robotics.ece.uwf.edu/imav09/index.html. Other plans for the club this year include model airplane flight training, an introduction to carbon fiber process, and work with wind tunnel equipment. We'll also need to build the MAV club Web site, find additional competition sponsors, organize fund raising activities, design club t-shirts, and organize flight testing and training activities. As of now, 2 ME senior design project groups and 1 EE senior project group are working on designing and building the micro air vehicle for the June 2009 competition. But our success with this and other club projects hinges on the involvement of many additional students, from many different majors--hence this email soliciting your participation! If you are interested in being part of the OSU MAV adventure, please join us at the first club meeting next Tuesday, October 14, at 6pm. We are expecting to meet in Rogers 230, but before heading over, please check the MAV Web site (under construction at  http://mime.oregonstate.edu/research/MAV/) to confirm this location. If you have any questions, please contact me at salichom@engr.orst.edu.
