APRIL 21- 25 – Earth Week

APRIL 22, Tuesday – Linda Hubbard Retirement Reception, 2:00-4:00 in Owen Hall Atrium

APRIL 22, Tuesday - Construction/Carpenter Field Internships for CEM and CE Students presentation by General Concrete & Contractors Association (GCCA). 6:00 pm, 106 Owen. Dinner included. This is the 5th year that OSU/CCE has partnered with the GCCA to create opportunities for CEM and CE students to hit the ground running in a unique field internship program. At the meeting you will be able to sign-up for interview appointments to be held April 23.

APRIL 22-23 - GRADUATING SENIORS, be sure to attend Commencement Countdown where you can buy your cap and gown, announcements and more. MU Ballroom, 10:00 – 4:00. If you’re unable to attend, you can buy graduation items from the OSU Bookstore after April 23.

APRIL 23, Wednesday – Student vs. Faculty Basketball Game, 6:00 pm in Dixon in the upper basketball courts. Organized by ASCE.

APRIL 24, Thursday – Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

ANNOUNCEMENTS

PLEASE WELCOME DANA  AINSWORTH to our accounting group. Dana recently relocated from California with her husband Justin, and sons Luke (5) and Sawyer (2). She has worked with non-profits, and fund/grant s for ten years since her graduation from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania. Dana is a hiker, runner, camper, photographer, movie buff, sports fanatic, and amateur chef.

A ROUND OF APPLAUSE for Prof. Robert Schultz, who will be honored this month for his 45-years of teaching at OSU.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - for O.H. Hinsdale Wave Research Laboratory Open House during Mom’s Weekend. We need tours guides on Saturday, May 3. No experience needed, we will train you and it will be lots of fun. Two hour minimum commitment - free pizza and t-shirt. This is a great way to get involved in the COE and build your resume.

   Thursday, May 1 (4:00 – 5:00)

STUDENT CHAPTERS
--------------------
APRIL 23, Wednesday - EWB General Meeting & Officer Elections, KEC 1003, 7:00 pm. Attendees from the EWB International Conference in Seattle will share all they learned during that event over spring break. Also, candidates for the positions of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer will introduce themselves and speak of their qualifications. Nominations for these positions are open until 8:00 pm this Wednesday so all are encouraged to run! Position descriptions can be found at ewb-osu.org. And as always, free pizza and pop.

APRIL 28, Monday - ACSM Speaker Meeting and Officer Elections. Tripod Data Systems (TDS) will discuss the functions of the TDS collector. 110 Owen Hall, 5:00 pm. Pizza provided.

AMERICAN INSTITUTE of AERONAUTICS and ASTRONAUTICS - have the chance to make history by being a part of this movement to create the first AIAA student chapter in all of Oregon. As a part of the AIAA organization you would be able to participate in Design competitions; Industry dinners; Guest lectures; Reduced prices for industry seminars; Scholarship opportunities; and wind tunnel testing of competition projects here on the OSU campus. Please attend our first informational and organizational meeting on Tuesday, April 29 at 5:00 pm in KEC 1003.
