CALENDAR

APRIL 16, Wednesday - Electrical Contractors/National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) Information Meeting. All students invited! Learn about the opportunities available working for an electrical contractor, internships and full-time positions, and how NECA supports the industry. Food and beverages will be provided. Open to all Construction and Civil students. 106 Owen Hall, 6:00 pm. Interviews will be held next week.

APRIL 17, Thursday – Tours of Apperson to Kearney (A2K). CCE faculty, staff and students are all invited to our first A2K UPDATE from 11:00 AM to 2:00 pm in Owen Hall Atrium. Tours will be available at 11:00, 11:20, 11:40 am and again at 1:00, 1:20 and 1:40 pm. Sign-up sheets will be posted on Tuesday outside 220 Owen Hall. Space is limited, sign-up early. Any remaining spaces on the tours will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Free pizza will be available for all at 12:00 noon, as the project leads from OSU, Hoffman Construction, and SERA Architects provide brief highlights. Thanks to the student chapters of AGC and ASCE, our honorary hosts of this event!

APRIL 18, Friday – Contractors Night, CH2M-Hill Alumni Center, 6:00 pm. All CEM students are invited to attend free of charge. This banquet is a good place to meet and network with people involved in the construction industry. Students are seated with contractors, alumni and friends of the CEM program. The evening celebrates the great relationship the OSU/CEM program has with the industry and our alumni. Sign-up with Jan in 220 Owen by Wednesday, 4/16.

APRIL 22, Tuesday - Construction/Carpenter Field Internships for CEM and CE Students presentation by General Concrete & Contractors Association (GCCA). 6:00 pm, 106 Owen. Dinner included. This is the 5th year that OSU/CCE has partnered with the GCCA to create opportunities for CEM and CE students to hit the ground running in a unique field internship program. Learn more about this great opportunity! At the meeting you will be able to sign-up for interview appointments to be held April 23.

APRIL 30 - University-Wide Career Fair, CH2M Hill Alumni Center. Start polishing your resume.

CCE STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - for Engineering Expo. Please let Cindy know by April 25 when you can help, and then sign up online.
  May 7th:  Moving furniture
  May 8th:  Set up tables, power cords, and misc. items
  May 9th:  Put signs up around campus (early), set up items for outdoors exhibits, parking & info tables volunteers, “Wheel of Fortune” game, floor managers, break down & clean up (late)
