JANUARY 17-18 - Oregon Land Survey Law Workshop #2A, 110 Owen Hall. Pre-registration required.
JANUARY 17, Thursday - TEACHFORAMERICA information session. Only 1 in 10 students from low-income communities will graduate from college-- and you have the power to change this. Memorial Union Room 211, 6:30 pm. Refreshments will be served.
JANUARY 21 – Martin Luther King Day. No classes, CCE office closed. Week-long OSU events celebrating Dr. King are here.

SEMINARS

JANUARY 17, Thursday – “Flow, Sediment Transport, and Geomorphic Adjustment in Rivers” - the 4th Edwards Lecture, presented by Dr. Jim Dungan Smith of USGS (University of Colorado). Memorial Union Powell Leadership Room. Seminar begins at 4:00, followed by social and refreshments at 5:00.

GRAD STUDENTS & FACULTY – free workshop opportunities in the Valley Library cover literature review searches and bibliographies.
THE NEW ENTERPRISE CHALLENGE - is a business plan competition created and sponsored by the Austin Entrepreneurship Program for OSU students to present their business ideas to business experts including successful entrepreneurs, senior executives, venture advisors, and venture investors. First prize is $10,000!
SPRING BREAK – Engineers Without Borders is seeking students from ALL majors to travel to El Salvador during Spring Break. You are also expected to actively plan and participate in skill-building workshops to prepare for travel. In return, all (reasonable) expenses associated with the trip will be paid for by EWB-OSU. Travelers will be responsible for the continued implementation of a sustainable water delivery system in El Salvador. We are looking for individuals who are ready to work alongside community members and spend time in a developing country. Attend their general meeting on January 16, 7:00 pm, Kelley 1003 where recent travelers will present their progress.
