JANUARY 7-11 – Parking in student lots free all week.
JANUARY 10, Thursday – celebrate Dr. M.L. King’s vision of the Beloved Community with keynote speech by Ben Harrison, former Diversity Specialist for HP. Entertainment provided by the Jefferson Dancers from the Jefferson High School Academy of Arts and Technology in Portland. The event is free and open to the public. Majestic Theater, 115 SW 2nd St, 7:00 pm.
JANUARY 17, Thursday - TEACHFORAMERICA information session. Only 1 in 10 students from low-income communities will graduate from college-- and you have the power to change this. Memorial Union Room 211, 6:30 pm. Refreshments will be served.

SEMINARS

JANUARY 17, Thursday – “Flow, Sediment Transport, and Geomorphic Adjustment in Rivers” - the 4th Edwards Lecture, presented by Dr. Jim Dungan Smith of USGS (University of Colorado). Memorial Union Powell Leadership Room. Seminar begins at 4:00, followed by social and refreshments at 5:00.

ATHLETES in the NEWS – Congratulations to All-Academic Team honorees, who include cross country team member Hayley Oveson, and football athletes Taylor Kavanaugh, Adam Speer, and Gabe Miller.
CCE in the NEWS – our Apperson Hall renovation (Gazette-Times) and forest engineering research on tsunami waves hitting wood structures at the Hinsdale Wave Research Lab (Live Science).
