COMPUTER LAB CLOSED on Friday, May 18 to accommodate Lighting and Illumination workshop.
FULBRIGHT US STUDENT PROGRAM - generally provides funding for round-trip travel, maintenance for one academic year, health and accident coverage, and full or partial tuition. Applicants must be US citizens at the time of application and hold at least a bachelor's degree or its equivalent by the beginning date of the grant. Informational meeting on Wednesday, May 30, 10:30-noon in the Van de Water Conference Room (448 Snell Hall). The campus deadline for the receipt of applications is Friday, October 5, 2007. Applications will be reviewed on campus prior to being forwarded to IIE for the October 19, 2007 deadline. Complete program and application information is available at www.us.fulbrightonline.org. OSU students should contact Marit Legler (marit.legler@oregonstate.edu), the Fulbright Program Adviser located in 444 Snell Hall, for brochures, application, and further information.
Do you know a girl currently in 9th, 10th, or 11th grade that is interested in Engineering? The University of Evansville (located in Evansville, Indiana) offers and all inclusive residential camp for high school aged girls who are interested in Engineering. The camp will be held June 24-30. Applications to register for the camp are due to the University of Evansville by May 26. Oregon ASCE is sponsoring two $750 scholarships to be awarded to two qualified girls who live within the Oregon Section to attend the camp. To be considered for the scholarship, please send a copy of the completed application and essay to Mr. Stacy Frost (sjf@hdjengineers.com) by May 26, 2007. Two UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters will be landing on the lower campus field on campus at 1 pm Tuesday, May 15, and shutting down. They will then depart at 2:15 pm, return at 2:35 pm, depart a couple minutes later and then land at 3:56 pm and take off a couple minutes later. The helicopters will be flying to the Poultry Research Center area on Harrison Boulevard each time and landing there at 2:30 p.m., 2:45 pm, 4 pm and 4:20 pm.

Phase I of registration has begun. You may register for up to 16 credits during Phase I, if you need to register for more than 16 then you must wait until your registration day during Phase II.

MAY 17, Thursday - Joint ASCE & EERI presentation, "Essential Earthquake Engineering: How OSU won First Place in this year's Seismic Design Competition." 101 Owen Hall, 5:45 pm. Food and drinks will be provided.
MAY 21 - PLSO STUDENT APPRECIATION NIGHT. The Willamette Branch of PLSO has a speaker and a free dinner for students interested in surveying. Students must pre-register by May 14, 2007 to attend this free dinner event. Equipment demonstrations by TOPCON.
HELP REBUILD WILDCAT PARK - Great hands-on community service opportunity to help rebuild Wilson Elementary playground. The playground was removed a few years ago due to deterioration and safety concerns and now they are rebuilding a new one. Wilson Elementary is located near Timberhill and Winco. We will get a group together Saturday, June 2nd from 12:00 to 4:00 pm. Sign up with Cindy Olson in 220 Owen Hall. To volunteer you do not need to have any skills, nor do you need to bring any tools. Food and snacks provided for volunteers. If you would like to volunteer but are not available on this day, write available date & times and we can arrange something.
