APRIL 24-25 – COMMENCEMENT COUNTDOWN, 10:00 – 4:00, MU Ballroom. Students will be able to order announcements and purchase cap and gown.

APRIL 25, Wednesday – a university-wide SPRING CAREER FAIR, 11:00 - 4:00, CH2M Hill Alumni Center

APRIL 26, Thursday – AACE Cascade Section workshop in Portland , "Project Estimating from A to Z”. Student rate is $50, with all net proceeds to OSU CE/CEM scholarship fund. Details.

APRIL 27, Friday – “Nonlinear Resonance in a Harbor,” seminar presented by Professor Chiang Mei, Ford Professor of Engineering, Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Sponsored by the Miles Lowell and Margaret Watt Edwards Endowment. Social and refreshments at 3:00, seminar at 4:00 in the Memorial Union Powell Leadership Room.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

PORTLAND WATER BUREAU FIELD DAY - an open house with tours (van and walking) and ride-alongs with Water Bureau crews. The opportunities are fun, hands-on, and designed to help participants understand the work the Water Bureau does every day to deliver Portland's drinking water. Space is limited, advance registration required. Registration closes on May 4, for this May 9 event.

STEEL BRIDGE TEAM TAKES 4th PLACE OVERALL at REGIONALS – our OSU steel bridge team consisting of Captain Katie Caskey, Fabrication Leader Gavin Smith, Design Leader Garret Ellingson, Analysis Leader Josh Goodall, Kyle Latimer, Jacob Moomaw and Dan Zylkowski placed 4th overall at the ASCE regionals at the University of Alaska - Fairbanks. OSU earned 1st place in Aesthetics and 1st place in Lightness. The bridge is on display in the Owen Hall atrium and according to an informed source, "is the prettiest OSU bridge ever." It weighs 259 lbs and was constructed in the contest in 9 minutes by a team of 4 people. In the technical paper competition, Josh Goodall placed 3rd with his paper on undergraduate research. Congratulations to Josh, Katie and the entire team!! The group's enthusiasm, sportsmanship and engineering excellence are a tribute to OSU.

STUDENTS CAN PRINT FREE plots and posters --and-- have them laminated via Student Multimedia Services (Information Commons, 2nd Floor, The Valley Library, student.multimedia@oregonstate.edu, http://oregonstate.edu/dept/is/gsmpc). This free service is open to all students, not just grads. You must plan ahead to use the facility; it is not a drop in service.

ADVISING

Fall Term Advising is May 9, 10, and 11. All students must see their advisor; all advisors will have sign up sheets on Monday, May 7. Priority Registration is changing for the Fall -please stay tuned as details become available.
