APRIL 5, Thursday – FE REVIEW (free!), 102 Owen Hall, 5:00-7:00 pm. Organized by CCE Honor Society. Topics cover environmental (Prof. Dolan) and water (Prof. Istok). Two additional sessions to follow, reviewing surveying, transportation and structures.

APRIL 6, Friday - Legal Aspects and Liability of Traffic Safety workshop, LaSells Stewart Center (pre-registration required)

FREE PARKING - in student/visitor lots through Friday, April 6. Permits are still required in faculty/staff lots.

KAREN DIXON – was nominated to chair an expert/peer review for the Turner-Fairbank Highway Research Center Laboratory Assessment Process. The lab assessment will provide feedback and suggestions to lab managers, allow an exchange of views among technical experts, and provide opportunities for FHWA and stakeholders to provide input to research and related program activities.

KATE HUNTER-ZAWORSKSI's - recent research on accessible lavatory design will be featured on all new Boeing 787 Dreamliner commercial airplanes. Accessible features such as universally designed door handles for those with limited hand agility and ‘touchless' faucets and toilet flushing are included. INVITATION TO ALL CEM STUDENTS - Contractors' Night 2007 is scheduled Friday, April 13, 2007. It will be held in the Ballroom of the CH2M-Hill Alumni Center. The festivities begin at 6:00 pm with a social hour, with dinner at 7:00 pm. All Construction Engineering Management students are invited to attend—you must sign-up with Jan Strombeck, 220 Owen Hall by Monday, April 9, 2007. The Contractors' Night Banquet is a good place to meet and network with people involved in the Construction Industry. Students are seated with contractors, alumni and friends of the CEM program. This evening celebrates the great relationship the OSU/CEM program has with the industry and our alumni. AGC Student Chapter members are free. Cost for guests of student AGC Student Chapter members and non-AGC Student Chapter members is $25.00, and you must sign-up with Jan in 220 Owen. If you have questions, please see Jan.

CEM HEAVY/CIVIL ESTIMATING TEAM, who took first place last month at the ASC Reno Heavy/Civil competition, was awarded second place at the AGC National Convention in San Antonio, TX. Congrats to all team members for representing OSU at the nationals!

LEED EXAM TRAINING WORKSHOP – Friday, May 11 in 241 Owen Hall, taught by Brightworks - a leading green building and sustainability consulting firm. The full-day workshop will prepare students for the LEED NC version 2.2 accreditation exam. Free for CCE pro-level & grad students (pre-students on wait list to fill any open spots), 70-person maximum. Sign up with Cindy in 220 Owen Hall.

COMING UP - AACE Cascade Section workshop, "Project Estimating from A to Z” in Portland on April 26. Student rate is $50, with all net proceeds to OSU CE/CEM scholarship fund. Details at http://www.aace-cascade.org/Spring%20Workshop.htm.

TUTORING/STUDY SESSION for Physics 211 during spring quarter. While all students will be welcomed to sessions, we would like this program to focus on the needs and success of female students. No need to sign up for the study sessions, just show up at the scheduled times, in 141 Batchellor Hall;
