Geotechnical engineers help design structures that are either composed of soil/rock or are in contact with it. The Geotechnical Engineering Concentration at the school of Civil and Construction Engineering offers undergraduate and graduate study on the topics of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, geological engineering, and highway materials engineering.
