Construction Program:

Associated Schools of Construction Annual Competition

The annual event has been held since 1988. Between 1988 and 1995 OSU participated in Heavy/Civil Division and Commercial Building Division competitions. A Residential Building division was added in 1997, followed by a Graduate Division in 2003, a Mechanical Division in 2004, a Design/Build Division in 2005 and a LEED Division in 2007. In 2008 the Residential Division was renamed Multi-Family and a PreConstruction Division was added.

Over an 18-hour period they completed a full bid and the next day made a presentation to a mock owner or upper management panel. All eight teams were coached by Director of Outreach and Construction Education Foundation Chair Greg Baker, and supported by numerous Oregon contractors and CEM & CE alumni. The teams were also supported by (Emeritus Professor) Hal & Ann Pritchett who again drove all the equipment and material to Reno and brought home the trophies.
